Upcoming K-8 Schools in Nocatee and SilverLeaf Set to Open in 2026
The St. Johns County School District recently announced plans for a new K-8 school, named "RR," positioned just south of the Seabrook Village neighborhood in Nocatee. Expected to start operating in the 2026-27 academic year, this educational facility will be the fifth contribution by The PARC Group, Nocatee's developer, to the St. Johns County School District.
This zoning plan, effective from 2024-25, will not affect students in the Nocatee area. The commitment to educational infrastructure in this community is evident, with previous donations such as Pine Island Academy (2021-22), Palm Valley Academy (2018), Valley Ridge Academy (2014), and Ponte Vedra High School (2008).
The upcoming K-8 School "RR" is designed to accommodate approximately 1500 students, reflecting Nocatee's dedication to fostering a robust educational environment. Rick Ray, the Chief Executive Officer of The PARC Group, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Education has always been an important cornerstone of the Nocatee lifestyle. We are pleased to provide a neighborhood school for the families in our final Nocatee communities."
The St. Johns County School District is in the initial stages of planning and designing two additional K-8 schools in the county's rapidly growing northern region. The proposed sites include the expansive SilverLeaf development and Nocatee. Both schools are expected to begin operations in the 2026-27 academic year, as revealed in a recent school board presentation. The district aims to secure funding for these projects early next year.
Additionally, the Shearwater and Beacon Lake neighborhoods are set to welcome two more K-8 schools (designated as NN and OO, respectively) in the upcoming school year. Moreover, RiverTown is scheduled to unveil another K-8 facility in 2025.

The initial institution, identified as "School NN," represents a K-8 educational facility situated within the Shearwater vicinity. Several middle school students currently enrolled at Freedom Crossing Academy, Switzerland Point, Pacetti Bay, and Mill Creek will undergo reassignment to this new school. The student body will be comprised of residents from eight distinct neighborhoods. Upon its inauguration next year, the school is expected to accommodate slightly over 1,000 students.
On the other hand, "School OO" is located in the Beacon Lakes area. Elementary students presently attending Ocean Palms and Liberty Pines will be redirected to this institution, while middle school students will transition from Alice Landrum and Liberty Pines. Approximately 1,200 students hailing from six different neighborhoods will constitute the school's population.
The board has additionally sanctioned the site for an upcoming K-8 school earmarked for Nocatee. Named "School RR," this institution will be constructed south of Seabrook Village, with an expected completion in time for the 2026-27 academic year. It will coincide with the inauguration of K-8 "QQ," situated in SilverLeaf.
Overall, the district aims to inaugurate five new K-8 schools within the coming three years.
